12-Step Program

Do you seem to be having trouble with your drinking? Have you reached the point where it worries you a bit? You may be interested in knowing something about Alcoholics Anonymous/12 Step Program.
We are men and women who have discovered we cannot control our drinking, and that there is no formal description of alcoholism. It could be described as a physical compulsion coupled with a mental obsession, meaning that our desire to consume alcohol is beyond our ability to control it. Therefore, our example is to live One Day at a Time.
Early in recovery we have learned that through the 12 Step Recovery Program coupled with a reliance upon a Power Greater Than Ourselves, we will grow in our recovery. We also found the difficulty that has damaged our families’ lives, and to repair the broken bonds we are offered the Alanon Family Recovery Program.
Perhaps the most effective treatment of recovery is the learning of self-understanding and a close association of others in the program.
Our program at St. Joseph is an outreach to the families of the parish and to the members of the Anderson Community.
The primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery to those seeking help.
