Homebound Ministry

Would you like to be involved in a ministry that is truly “extra ordinary?”

Extra-ordinary ministers visit Catholics who are in the hospital, rehab facilities, nursing homes and other care facilities as well as those who are confined to their homes.

We are honored to bring the most precious gift of the Holy Eucharist to folks who cannot attend Holy Mass.  Needless to say, this brings untold peace and happiness to those who depend on our visits to fill the void in their spiritual lives.

Our visits give patients and shut-ins an opportunity to become familiar with St. Joseph and St. Mary of the Angels if they have recently moved to this area.  A surprising number of people have recently come here from different parts of the country, primarily the northeast and Florida.

It is gratifying to receive the appreciation of those we visit.  But moreover, we get to meet some of the nicest people who are members of neighboring parishes in the upstate and Georgia.

It is our objective to have sufficient extra-ordinary ministers to provide visits to patients at AnMed daily.  Other care centers such as NHC, Brookside, Anderson Place, Morningside, Magnolia, Northpointe, Veterans Hospital and home shut-ins ideally will be visited on a regular basis.

Please consider being and extra-ordinary minister.  It will give you an extraordinary feeling!
