Knit & Crochet
We are an ecumenical group of women who knit, crochet, or sew hats, lap blankets, shawls, and scarves. We meet the third Wednesday of each month, September through May, at the Shook Center.
Our hand crafted items are donated to the Infusion Center and the Oncology Center at AnMed. We also make hats, afghans and wall hangings, with pockets, for the residents at the Richard C. Campbell Veterans Home. At Christmas time we give hats to all of the children at Calvary Home for children. Our group delivers approximately one hundred hats to the Soup Kitchen in November.
Some of the members also knit and crochet for Toasty Toes. This is an organization that sends comfort items to our military who are stationed overseas. Many of the items go to units in Iraq and Afghanistan and the military hospitals there. We always welcome new members to our group.
