Men's Club
The SJCCS Men’s Club is an active parish organization open to all men of the community. The club has no dues or fees. The club operates under its own constitution and by-laws to assist the pastor and parish community always focusing on the following principles.
Social development:
In addition to monthly meetings, the Club facilitates specific parish events aimed at Fellowship.
Service to the parish:
Provide assistance to minor parish projects. A team approach is utilized.
Spiritual growth:
Generally with the guidance of the Club’s Spiritual Director.
Following the above guidelines, the club supports many social events at Saint Joseph’s. The Spaghetti for Life dinner held every September benefits the Anderson Crisis Pregnancy Center and Citizens for Life. This one event has enabled us to donate over $15,000.00 to these charities to stop abortion. Other events include Mother’s day breakfast, where all Mother’s of the parish receive a flower and breakfast, a Widows dinner, Super Bowl Party and Oktoberfest are activities which allow the men’s club to help church supported groups.
The club purchases Prayer books, rosaries and Scapulas for all First Communicants, makes donations to the silent auction, purchases the St Gertrude gifts for Moms and Tots for Faith and donates to assist the flock and DTS in their activities. The list goes on and on.
We helped build a house for Habitat for Humanities, cooked dinner for the High School group and Christmas dinner for the RCIA class. We assisted in removing and reinstalling the pews in the church. The men’s club helps with the set up and take down of many of the Parish’s indoor/outdoor functions.
The club has brought back an old favorite with the golf outing. All funds from this event go directly to the school and church. This has allowed us to purchase and install a new ice maker and remodel the kitchen.
