S.F.O.
[Secular Franciscan Order]
The Secular Franciscan Order (SFO), commonly called the Secular Franciscans, is a community of people from all parts of the globe and every walk of life. The SFO accepts men, women, and youth, and they are dedicated to ministering to the world as St. Francis of Assissi did, following his works as he followed Christ. When the Anderson area SFOs originally gathered, they met at St. Mary of the Angels. Now they meet once a month in Greenville. The leaders of the Greenville Chapter are John and Judy Boyar. The local Secular Franciscan contacts are Connie Mackay and Lucy Laubshire.
