The Holiday Shopping Event was established after the passing of beloved husband, father, and friend, Scott Shuey, in honor of the surviving members of his family. All money raised goes directly to help cancer patients in Anderson County via the efforts of the Cancer Association of Anderson.

About the SJCCS Women's Club
The SJCCS Women's Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00pm, usually at the Father Friend Hall. There are no monthly or yearly dues. We encourage the members to bring snacks and we provide beverages at the meeting. We currently have approximately 35 registered members. We elect officers each year in October, as is outlined in our by-laws. The current Women's Club officers are:

Lori Grant - Religious Coordinator
Sheila Holcombe - Secretary
Liz Waller - Treasurer
The club is centered on charitable and religious activities that allow the ladies to get together socially and at the same time fulfill Catholic duties and teachings.
Some of our activities include the "Angel Tree" program, in which Christmas gifts are collected throughout the parish for the children of local families in need. This has been very successful in the past, and last year we coordinated the collection and distribution of gifts for over 200 children.
We also have "Mary's Baby Shower", usually in October for Respect Life month. We hold a baby shower at our meeting, and collect gifts in the Church vestibule which go to Anderson Crisis Pregnancy Center at the end of the month.
In addition, our yearly agenda normally includes:
• SJCCS Fall Festival - Cake Walk
• Respect Life Sunday - Precious Feet lapel pins given out after masses
• St. Valentine's Day - Care packages collected and sent to our soldiers on active duty
• Thanksgiving - collection and distribution of food packages to local food bank
Father's Day - potluck supper
• Lent - sponsor meatless supper one Friday in lent prior to Stations of the Cross
• Anderson Crisis Pregnancy Center annual dinner & fundraiser - we represent our Church with at least one full table each year
• SJCCS Gala & Silent Auction - donation of an item or basket for auc tion each year
We assist the church and other service organizations with other activities such as the Feast of St. Joseph, and “pictures with Santa” on the day of the Anderson Christmas Parade. This year we intend to help with the creation of a float, entry into the parade and an SJCCS booth during the parade.
The Women’s Club is open to all women in the parish, and we encourage the participation of all!! We are beginning our new year at the end of this month after elections, and although we have some programs already in progress, we look forward to meeting new members, and incorporating new ideas!!
